Dynamic music educator with a proven track record at Brisbane School District, fostering strong relationships and advocating for music programs. Expert in program building and proficient in teaching strings, I developed a district-wide strings program, enriching student engagement and securing increased funding for music education initiatives. I am always seeking an opportunity to grow as an educator and build high-quality professional relationships.

Discussed amongst the principals and our Superintendent, Educator of the Year is given to a teacher who impacts their community and student learning and seeks opportunities for professional development. Working in this district has given me an insight into what it takes to run a music program- professional relationships, giving back to the community that supports your program, and caring about students and their success. 

I believe education should be consistent, intentional, and equitable for all students. It is our duty to ensure students feel welcomed in our classrooms, have access to high-quality education, and are given opportunities to succeed. That being said, some students may have more opportunities due to factors of race, wealth, and accessibility. Our classrooms should strive to build up those who don’t have such opportunities so that they are better equipped to succeed when learning opportunities come. To uplift these students, we must be consistent with our expectations and instruction and intentionally embrace the strengths of our students.
