SKATE CANADA, PROGRAM ASSISTANT, CASTLEGAR, BRITISH COLOMBIA, I volunteered with Skate Canada while playing hockey in Castlegar British Colombia as a program assistant. As a program assistant my job was to help children, aged 3-10 years old, learn new skills in order to improve their skating skills. This meant I needed to communicate with kids and explain to them how to conquer the hardships they faced while learning.
