Summary

Hello, My name is Inigo Montoya.. Oops, wrong resume. Hello, my name is Randy. I worked in construction for close to 15 years and in that time I had damaged my body quite heavily. Ive had 3 different spinal injuries, 2 low back discs in 2003, a 3rd right above the first 2 in 2010 and 2 in my neck in 2012. As I could no longer work in my field of expertise and job retraining wasnt an option for me at the time, because I was not able to stand for any extended period of time and it just wasnt feasible for me to be able to work even part time in a personal job setting. I was father to a now full grown amazing young man age of 23, and met my current wife in 2007, married in 2012 and had 2 gorgeous babies, I am pretty biased on this.we had amazing boy who juat turned 12 and a precious daughter turning 10 soon. I applied for disability from the injuries to my lower back disc herniation after spending 2 years getting as much medical records with many mnay doctor visits, physical therapy and anything my doctors suggested. I was hoping to be able to get back to the piunt of just being able to stand in one spot longer than a few minutes to get any job. Surgery wasnt an option me. My spine was already fusing and they informed me that any surgery on my lower back at that point would just cause more pain and no relief. and help provide for my family. The surgeons i had seen for my lower back told me that operation wasnt viable because they cant fix the damage and even if they did perform the surgery on me it would just make the pain worse. I applied for disability shortly after to try and supplement our income and I was able to recieve my disability, but it had just felt like it was just a struggle for too many years and I needed to do more. When the Covid epidemic happened, jobs that didnt exist when i went on disability that do now because of the epidemic, that beng all the new delivery driver opportunities using a personal vehicle. Last summer towards the last week of June I wanted to make an appointment with my social security disability case worker to see if I can cancel my cash benefits but keep my medical as it was the most important for me and my wife and 2 youngest children since they all were able to receive medical through me. I was informed at that time that i didnt need to do any of that as I was allowed to still bring income of a certain monthly amount without it affecting my benefits. I started Doordash delivery the next day. I really do enjoy delivering for Doordash, but its not as consistant in pay and its taking too much time away from my kids for what my children deaerve. There are days where I will be in my car 10-12 hrs a day and 6 days a week quite a bit. Ive been searching for more opportunities as a delivery driver and all I ended up with was email spam to links to jobs that im not qualified for or not even a delivery driver offer. Ive spent alot of my free time researching and applying for all of the delivery driver opportunities I could find the last few months. Amazon Flex, Roadie which i think is UPS and Sparks Driver which is Walmart as well but couldnt find recent insurance card and decided to use the older one i had, thinking it would still be under the same policy number. I was wrong and there are no second chances with Sparx. That leads me to making this resume, long drawn out and probably way too much TMI. I found out about DSP delivery and some other local smaller businesses that are either currently looking for or taking applications for part time flexible hours where I can still do my job 100% and I love what im doing. I am thankful for the opportunity to be abke to work and still be able to be there for my son and daughter. I had installed a reqr view backup camera since having a neck injury its difficuly to turn and look behind me when backing out or changing lanes, I started using the back-up camera as my rear view mirror and have no issues using my side mirrors. I recently went and purchased a new radio with a 9" screen with extended gps for delivery driving opportunities for safety reasons, for myself and the other drivers on the road. Thank you so much for taking the time to read through this summary of my resume.

Service Technician

One Way construction
Anderson
08.1999 - 03.2005
  • Restaurant maintenance and remodeling. Most of our work was at night at closing time. We serviced Olive Garden and Red Lobster. Eventually my boss got more restaurants , In n Out and Papa Murphys. A big portion of our job was driving to and from the restaurants. Sometimes we were required to go to a different restaurant each night we worked, even if the restaurant was in aother city. The comanys shop was in Anderson and we left from there and returned there every week. Our work took us from Redding down to Fresno at that time. I went back to work for One Way Construction again back in 2024. The first 2 years I used my personal vehicle, i kind preferred it, It was more comfortable than in a company vehicle and he paid for our fuel as well as our travel time.He was one of the best Bosses that I've ever worked for. There were times I wod ha r to work on several restaurants in the work week. Id guess that I drove d800-900 miles in a week.I worked for the company for about 2 years and then for personal reasons I quit and started working for an electrical contractor running all the wires from the breaker panel running the wires into each room from inside the rafters.
  • I went back to work for One Way Constructiion in late 2023 or early 2024. I was injured while walking down steps outside and caught myself with my left hand while I landed on the asphalt on my rear while my hand was still on the tp of the decking.
  • Catching myself during the fall, I tore the cartilage connecting my shoulder and arm off the bone. I had surgery finally about a year and a half after the accident .
