Experienced Registered Practical Nurse with a passion for management and leadership in the healthcare field. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Health Administration at Toronto Metropolitan University to expand expertise beyond bedside nursing. In role within the Nursing Resource Team, gained valuable knowledge and honed skills. Notably excelled as a Clinical Extern Mentor and Coordinator, guiding and directing clinical externs and new staff members. Collaborating with unit management, develop personalized learning plans for each extern and facilitate their integration into the hospital. Additionally, work closely with professional practice to orient new hires and coordinate certification of special skills. Through regular meetings with unit leadership and the Chief Nurse Executive, actively contribute to improving nursing practices within the hospital. This role has ignited a newfound passion, driving to further expand knowledge of the healthcare system, laws, and informatics. Recently transitioned into position of Transitional Care Coordinator at William Osler Health System. In this leadership role, collaborate with allied team members, Ontario Health at Home, and external facilities to ensure timely and supported discharges for patients. Guiding families through challenging circumstances has been an essential aspect of responsibilities. Conducting family meetings, making referrals, and assisting with applications are routine tasks. Attending hospital-wide ALC meetings and continuously seeking external resources are crucial for staying up-to-date in this role. As a trusted resource for nursing staff, allied team members, and physicians alike, take great pride in serving the public and constantly seeking new ways to make a difference.
