Reducing the cycle time on CNC machines (Mazak, Swiss) by designing new tools. Combined the valve seat and the form tools to do multiple operation in one cycle reducing the cycle time by 5 seconds. Due to excess breakage of the boring bar and recessing insert, designed a new boring bar and insert which helped in reducing the cycle time by 8.5 sec and helped in increasing the tool life. Brought up new tooling on CNC Swiss machine to reduce the downtime of the machine as downtime was the major problem. Improvement of the life cycle of a car gear dies during hot forging process. Collected previous data on the life cycle of a die used in making gear and suggested higher grade material for the production. Recommended different types of coatings used on dies to increase the life cycle of a die.
