  • Collect blood specimens by performing venipuncture, labels specimens with required information and ensures safe disposal of sharps and other materials as required.
  • Know how to prioritize workload such as STAT, Urgent, Timed and Routine blood tests.
  • Prepare blood specimens for analysis by checking specimen identification against requisition, identify whether additional tests or special test is required. Do add-on specimens if requested.
  • Prepare urine for analysis such as urinalysis, ucrat, drug screen urine, urine micro, upreg and urine culture.
  • Centrifuge specimens and load specimens on analyzer for testing. Separate serum or plasma by aliquot spun specimens.
  • Ensure quality control by performing routine maintenance on lab equipments to produce accurate results.
  • Perform routine ECG where required.
  • Receive specimens, label drop off specimens, order lab by using Meditech, batches specimens in order of established priorities to applicable sites.
  • Answer phone calls.
  • Follow safety protocols to maintain safe laboratory environment.
  • Help training new staffs or students, ensuring to follow protocols.
