I started my career with EPCOR in May of 2016 where I worked as a Labourer II at the Gold bar WWTP and Labourer on a construction and maintenance crew in Water D&T. I am currently working as a Maintenance Repairman in Flow Control Facilities at EPCOR Water Services. Since starting at EPCOR I had the opportunity to gain valuable experience across different areas including Wastewater Treatment, Wastewater Collection and Water Distribution. I am excited to further my skills and knowledge in a trades setting in a fast growing and innovative company.

- Responsibilities are as follows: Perform sub-journeyman maintenance and operation of flow control facilities e.g
- Sanitary/storm water lift stations, storm water pond control gates, odor control facilities and Millcreek oil separator
- Work performed includes regular preventative maintenance on pumps, valves, generators, odour control units, hydraulic gates and related infrastructure that makes up the wastewater collection system
- Perform regular wet well cleanings to remove heavy debris that have the potential to plug pumps
- Assist millwrights with pump rebuilds e.g
- Replacement of impeller, wear rings, shaft bearings, mechanical seals and O- rings
- Perform oil changes on pumps and generators, assist millwrights with station upgrades e.g
- Replace pumps, suction/discharge valves, check vales and pipe work
- Perform function tests on backflow preventers to insure good function for the protection of the water distribution system
- Full lift station inspections to insure the building is in good condition
- Maintenance and replacement of hydraulic control gates and motors, assist with replacement and making of hydraulic hoses, use of various tools related to the millwright trade
- Keeping regular stock of needed tools and materials on the truck to insure job completion in a timely manner, assist with the planning and set up of emergency and planned by-passes to insure the continued operation of lift stations while under on-going maintenance and upgrades
- Good communication with public members, record keeping of equipment hours and service dates, regular lubrication of equipment, operation of crane truck in sometimes tight busy areas for removal of sewage pumps from wet wells
- Plumbing jobs on air relief valves, regular housekeeping e.g
- Snow removal and cleaning of lift station floors and surfaces.

- Responsibilities are as follows: General plant maintenance, cleaning primary and secondary clarifiers/Bio reactors to get them ready for maintenance work or inspections
- Working with submersible pumps and hoses to pump water from clarifiers
- Minor trouble shooting of submersible pumps and equipment, Set up of equipment for safety purposes such as davits and life lines, housekeeping of the plant and landscaping
- Some other tasks include snow removal, assisting the millwrights with maintenance of process equipment to remove and replace chain and sprockets, also a back up support for plant operations/maintenance to perform rescue for confined space entry.

- Responsibilities are as follows: Completing the safe work plan before work takes place, Loading up the truck with materials needed for the day e.g.: (Hydrants, Valves, Valve casings, Water pipe, Sewer pipe), loading up caboose to be transported to site, setting up barricades on site, saw cutting the asphalt or concrete to prepare for the backhoe to break out and dig, switching the backhoe attachments e.g.: (breaker, bucket, tamping plate), shoring excavation
- Prepping work in the excavation for maintenance/replacement e.g.: (Digging out water mains to repair main breaks, fix/replace hydrants, valves, valve casing, new water service installs, lead service renewals)
- Performing maintenance/replacement work on water mains, hydrants, valves, curb cocks, water services, lead service renewals, making sure the work site has appropriate signage and the excavation is covered and has proper signage
- Customer service and answering questions posed by the public, assisting backhoe operator with backfill once repairs/replacements have been complete, updating status of valves on NFL and valve operation checks, using power maps, flushing water mains once repair/replacements have been complete, taking chlorine and turbidity samples to confirm water quality, dropping water samples to Rosedale WTP, notifying customs of water outages.
