  • Responsible for getting turtles out of the lab when immediate care is no longer needed.
  • Coordinated with finders and volunteers from the community to send turtles to rehab and to release them.
  • Schedule and perform monthly recheck examinations on turtles in rehab and determine when the turtle is ready to return to the wild.

  • Responsible for the triage and intake of injured wild reptiles and for the formulation of their treatment plans, along with their implementation.

  • Performed feeding tube placements, abscess repairs, shell fracture repairs,amputations, and foreign body removals.
  • Administered medications in the form of eye drops, subcutaneous injections, intramuscular injections, topical creams and sprays, and nebulization.
  • Other skills obtained and utilized in this position include species identification, dosage concentrations and dilutions, and bandaging wounds.
