I have been involved in the planning, design and construction of various projects ranging from; dry pond, wet pond, minor/major sewer rehabilitations, emergency events, SWMFs safety improvement, manhole sealing, underground storages and other LID infrastructures. Some of the activities I have carried in completing these projects are, but not limited to;

• Engaging various internal and external stakeholders in the early stages of the project to determine project scope and ensures expectations are aligned through consultation and gathering of feedback.
• Developing budget, fine tuning and updating cost estimates, schedule and scope including monitoring and reporting on projects progress to senior managements according to the directive provided
• Engaging multiple departments within EPCOR Water Services and other business unit to ensure project commitment and buy in as required.
• Identifying potential project risks using processes like HADZDOC, personal and team experience and knowledge to develop mitigation strategies.
• Adopting and encouraging a comprehensive safety culture with uncompromising safety position on project delivery methodology

• Participated in analyzing flood mitigation data for short term and long term flood mitigation programs.
• Worked with the University of Alberta to conduct thorough research on drop structure impacts on odour generation in drainage deep tunnels to inform drop structure modification design option.
• Worked with the City of Edmonton to maintain and update record on arterial roads rehabilitation program for better coordination between the City and EPCOR and prioritization of yearly projects under the program.
• Developed various project initiation and stage gate documentation, ensuring identified stakeholder like Operations, design and the construction teams are involved in initiation phase of the projects.
• Conducted hight level risk assessments to mitigate potential issues, safeguarding project timelines and budgets.

• Involved in developing project update letters to community leagues, responding to Council request and serve as a point of contact for residents for information relating to odour and flood inquiries
• Currently working on the City wide Odour Mitigation Strategy, Underpass Flooding Study as well as providing support to the City Wide Flood Mitigation strategy

• Responsible for the coordination and management of multiple related projects directed toward strategic business and other organizational objectives
• Designed processes to engage internal and external stakeholders to collaborate in identifying requirements to build new business relationship and enhance existing ones
• Developed a process to capture large corporate programs to help identify interrelationship among programs/projects for resource allocation and providing corporate portfolio management structure
• Maintained continuous alignment of program scope with strategic business objectives, and came up with innovative ideas to modify the program to enhance effectiveness toward the business result and strategic intent

• Accountable for the administration of different new sub-division development documents (construction completion certificate-CCC 1&2 and final acceptance certificate-FAC 1&2)
• Headed a team that worked on three-way agreements between Developers, the City and Consultants
• Responsible for the coordination and management of multiple major capital construction projects focused on strategic organization objectives
• Performed project management activities (prepared project management plans, schedule, cost estimates, tendering packages, construction execution/monitoring/inspection and project closeout)

• Provided leadership and career planning advice to 7 direct report staff comprising of 2 Project Engineers, 3 Project Coordinators, 1 landscape consultant and 1 Engineering Assistants
• Collaborated with Purchasing Department to prepare various procurement documents (RFQ, RFI, RFP etc.)
• Supervised permits and crossings agreements application and liaised with Provincial Ministry of Environment officers to ensue environmental approvals are obtained timely and assessments of project impact on the environment are adequately conducted
• Ensured regulatory compliance during construction and participated in various environmental mitigation strategies
• Was extensively involved in mentoring other engineers in terms of using communication skills for conflict resolution, consultants and contractors management in a project environment
• Designed a program to review City’s Development Manuals, Servicing Agreement documents and Standard Construction Specification, for improvement and alignment with the City’s service level requirements
• Coordinated /organized public consultations including open houses for awareness on constructions projects
• Delivered various construction projects involving installation of new feeder mains, alteration of existing supply line, pipeline rehabilitation, reservoirs structure rehabilitation, construction of new pump station, waste water treatment plant facility installation, cast iron assessment and data analysis for possible replacement, and water/sewer works system assessment
• Led various environmental impact assessment initiatives to assess project impact on the environment and providing recommendations on mitigation measures

• Managed different major capital design and construction projects with average budgets of over $10 Million annually
• Saved over $450k by developing a strong cost control process and detailed risk mitigation plan using a modified work breakdown structure to identify all work packages in a reservoir rehabilitation project
• Used my exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills to resolve project delivery issue in a water pipeline rehabilitation project resulting to a cost saving of over $150k
• Responsible for projects from the initiation to execution phases, including getting approval to award and/or approval to tender projects, develop tender documents, review contractor’s bids, develop selection matrix and providing recommendation to the purchasing department
• When I joined the City of Regina, I put my project management experience into work by initiating processes to improve our organization process assets by developing project documents templates (project charter, project guidelines, issue logs, lesson learned documents etc) for my branch
• Engaged and maintained communication with stakeholders at various levels providing projects updates
• Accountable for managing projects cost, schedule and scope to ensure projects success
• Worked closely with Finance and Purchasing departments on different types of procurement processes for projects
• Used historic data analysis of past projects to forecast the current or future cost of similar projects
• Had used this type of analysis for business planning, budget allocation and project prioritization which resulted to 20% increase in our project success rate
• Was extensively involved in mentoring students and junior engineers on the use of interpersonal, communication skills and core human resources management principles for conflict resolution, consultants and contractors management in a project environment

• As a research assistant, I was involved in some highly innovative environmental/geotechnical research projects at the University of Regina relating to the engineering characterization of soils, solid waste and partly storm water management
• As part of that project, I conducted geotechnical field investigation to determined suitable location within Saskatchewan for cores/soil sample collection and subsequently preserved them for further laboratory investigation and also did a full project on the design of waste water collection and treatment facilities, solid waste collection and audit of some residences in Regina and watershed delineation and storm water management using HEC-HMS software
• At GE Ground Engineering, I was extensively involved in borehole drilling for environmental assessment and laboratory testing of different geotechnical materials
• I investigated different types of soil geotechnical properties by laboratory testing (consistency limit, shrink/swell, consolidation etc) of soil samples for engineering characterization during which time I got familiar with different high-tech digital geotechnical testing equipment, laboratory data analysis, interpretation, presentation and high quality technical report writing

• As Pipeline Integrity Engineer, I was actively involved in integrity dig projects to dig up and inspect pipelines, evaluate and repair anomalies and using software like RSTRENG, ROSOFT and OPIS for comprehensive pipeline integrity management
• I was involved in the analysis of In-Line Inspection (ILI) data to prioritize pipeline integrity digs, preparing dig sheets using ILI information and collaborating with Senior Engineers to supervise contractors on integrity digs and pipeline repairs
• Three months after I resumed work, I did a project where I used the CSA Z662 to develop uniformity in class location for TransGas transmission pipeline in the system integrity group
• I participated in the annual risk assessment and analysis of the entire TransGas pipeline system and the year-end technical report that was presented to the company’s Senior Executives
• Before I completed my term, I developed a casing management program for TransGas pipelines at all roads and railway crossings based on NACE, SPI, ASME B31 G, and CSA Z662 standards

• As a research assistant, I was involved in some highly innovative environmental/geotechnical research projects at the University of Regina relating to the engineering characterization of soils, solid waste and partly storm water management
• As part of that project, I conducted geotechnical field investigation to determined suitable location within Saskatchewan for cores/soil sample collection and subsequently preserved them for further laboratory investigation and also did a full project on the design of waste water collection and treatment facilities, solid waste collection and audit of some residences in Regina and watershed delineation and storm water management using HEC-HMS software

• As a Geo-Environmental Engineer for a company involved in municipal water quality assurance, supply and infrastructure management, drilling of water boreholes and extraction/analysis of core samples from contaminated sites, I conducted over 300 environmental site assessments (phase I, II, III), managed several environmental projects and infrastructure to communities of over 15 million residents
• Assessments involved the analysis of historical data and gathering of recent information from surrounding site activities
• These data were used to predict and prevent potential active site contamination scenarios
• Water projects involved water quality assurance facilities management, pipe routing, waste water treatment and reuse for communities and industries
• I extensively used borehole information to predict the potential underground flow of contaminates into an aquifer through subsurface flow based on soil types and geomorphology
• I led a team of engineers and technologists responsible for installing ground water-monitoring wells to investigate aquifer depletion in areas prone to water scarcity
• Designed and supervised the installation of over 1000 water boreholes, casing materials, riser pipes and submersible pumps installation to bring portable and clean water to more than 30 State Capitals and 3 countries all over the West African sub-region
• Prepared and managed environmental projects and annual budgets over $500,000 and ensured timely completion of environmental projects to satisfy our varied clientele (corporate bodies, local and state governments and private investors)
