  • Used my skills as a journeyman electrician to adapt to the industrial setting, I installed heat trace (SR and MI), recently obtained MI splicing certification and itching to put it to use, fabricated rigid conduit via hydraulic bender and installed, lead a cable pull crew, fabricated cable tray and installed as required, termination when necessary and conducted meter readings via rope access.
  • In the almost 3 years I was employed with this company I progressed as a level 1 rope tech to level 2 with enough hours to get my level 3.
  • I started a insulator apprenticeship for which I have my 1st year exam at the beginning of Feburary, can do the basics requirements of what’s expected of a 1st year including; cutting and installing insulation, fabricating and installing cladding on a rudimentary level.
  • During my employment I was part of 4 shutdowns were my duties varied if not performing one of my trades assisting with another and utilizing my rope access experience to best assist were required.

  • Construction: Within this department I dealt with the initial stage of production which entailed project management, interpretation of construction schematics, running pvc pipe, pouring concrete, pulling wire and mounting traffic poles.
  • Street Lighting: Installing and troubleshooting the contactor driven control cabinets, troubleshooting the branch circuits and determining faults that left areas without light, running temporary span wire to ensure areas are illuminated until a wire pull could be arranged, orchestrating with management and directional drillers to ensure successful wire pulls, and using computer program tech tool to deal with individual 311 calls or site wide retrofits.
  • Traffic Maintenance: Responded to emergency calls throughout the city varying from traffic accidents taking down traffic poles and sending intersection into flash or killing all together, organizing traffic detours with the city, executing temporary or permanent modifications to intersections, learning the concepts behind Boolean theory and how it’s implemented to control intersections, and carrying out routine internal and external maintenance of intersections.
