Poetry to me is like therapy.  It's a means of getting stuck emotions out into the light. Also, it can bring laughter  and tears. I have been writing poetry since I was in elementary school, and it's been a great joy and accomplishment for me to see how my poetry has changed and in my opinion, improved with the use of my words, emotions and life's experiences.
