I am a Finance and Economics graduate from Carleton University with an 8.8 CGPA. At this moment I am in the process of completing my CSC, as well as preparing to take my CFA Level 2 exam in November of this year. I have had experience working as an analyst through Transport Canada as well as previous Capital Markets experience that I gained through working with my School’s Investment Fund.
As a Customer Service representative at Farm Boy my duties include answering any questions and inquires that customers have about the products within the Meat and Sea Food department, as well as packaging, stocking shelves, replenishing the service case, and counting inventory at the end of my shifts. I also partake in filling orders for the store's seafood department and forecasting sales projections for the following day.
My duties include tracking and analyzing trends within the Department of Dangerous Goods, entering transactions into MS Excel and sorting through datasets using INDEX, MATCH, VLOOKUP Functions and Pivot Tables. I am also responsible for presenting my findings to my supervisor and preparing Power Point Presentations along with my fellow coworkers
I was a Teacher’s Assistant for the course BUSI 3629 (Corporate Governance and Strategy) alongside Dr Hillary Becker. This course was designed for nonbusiness students looking to write their CPA and covered a broad range of topics spanning PESTL Analysis, VIRO Analysis, Porter’s 5 Forces as well as Corporate and Business Strategies. My duties included grading student’s exams and assignments then compiling them into excel for Dr Becker to Review as well as regularly scheduling meetings with him to discuss the course material.
I was a Teacher's Assistant in the fall 2018 Semester for Dr. Sana Mohsni for BUSI 3500 (Applied Corporate Finance). This course required me to be responsible for 80 third year students who have concentrations in either Finance or Accounting. I was required to mark cases, projects, midterms, and finals as well as host office hours for students who had issues with the course material. I would conduct measures of spreads on student's marks and provide feedback. This course allowed me to broaden my knowledge in useful topics such as Corporate Governance, Valuation, Capital Structure, and Risk Measurement.
While at Calforex Ltd, I performed various duties that included carrying out cash currency transactions, assisting clients, data entry, performing paperwork of my daily transactions and balancing our currency inventory. It was essential that while working at Calforex to be up to date on all FINTRAC's rules and regulations given that the company is an MBS, I was required to speak both English and French to be able to effectively communicate with clients while on the job. I was also responsible for answering phone calls related to questions and inquiries about the products and Services of Calforex.Ltd.
While at Carleton University I worked with the Sprott Student Investment Fund. The Sprott Student Investment Fund is a way to give students firsthand experience working in Equity Research. I was assigned to analyze the Consumer Staples sector and was tasked with coming up with a Buy recommendation by the end of each quarter in which would go towards a position in the school’s portfolio. The Sprott Student Investment Fund followed a Value Investing strategy and I was tasked with analyzing the sector through a top-down approach. Once selecting a company that I recommend taking a position in I would prepare an Equity Research report for the end of the semester with a colleague, and we would present it to a panel. I gained valuable skills in this position like getting my Bloomberg certification, Valuation skills, Financial Modelling and tracking Capital Markets.
