With 30 years total experience in ATS, 15 of which were part of the NAV management team, I have proven to be an effective and collaborative leader that has been instrumental in overcoming a variety of personnel challenges to foster improvements in overall employee engagement. General Manager Moncton FIR

  • When faced with the pandemic challenges and company direction to reduce staff in Moncton ACC, I worked 1 on 1 with the union and individual controllers to reduce the initial number of impacted employees from 27 down to 5 controllers
  • Worked with all levels of senior management as well as senior union leaders to initiate implementation of a national fatigue management program
  • Represented NAV Canada in discussions with senior levels of Transport Canada
  • Part of the National team for Workforce Planning
  • Participated in the CEO Leadership Forum

Manager of ACC Operations

  • Tireless efforts in leading Moncton FIR through a significant cultural change resulting in a remarkable turnaround in employee engagement between 2014 and 2017
  • Spearheaded Halifax Terminal Airspace Modernization Project to be one of the first airports to implement RNP-AR approaches
  • Implemented EXCDS Electronic Strips in the Maritime Specialty to complete the paperless environment in QM ACC
  • Supported implementation of IWP in Halifax Tower
  • Led Moncton management team and staff, throughout the entire FIR, to complete a full restructuring of the local organizational reporting framework
  • Assumed responsibility of all FSS and Towers as well as the ACC under this new structure
  • Mentored and trained all Unit Managers to be accountable for budgeting in their particular area of responsibility
  • Negotiated Appendix G schedules at every site and specialty with an overall positive outcome from both a financial and engagement perspective, including a High Level 5/5
  • Redefined Supervisor roles and responsibilities within the FIR and empowered them to make a wider range of decisions affecting their individual operations
  • Provided training and implemented NC-SIS for all sites as well as the ACC Supervisors

  • In this role I championed the Moncton FIR to be on the leading edge of technology opportunities
  • As a result, Moncton was the test site or first implementation location in the country for many of these initiatives
  • Some of these included Electronic Flight Strips in the High Specialty, MTCD, CPDLC and EXCDS Strips in Halifax Terminal
  • Implemented the first Appendix G in the country with the Moncton 4/4 DSC schedule that benefited both management and employees

  • As recommended by GM, I participated in the NAV CANADA LEAD Program
  • CAATS Implementation Manager for first installation in the country
  • Development of procedures and implementation of BUN (CAATS Back up Node) for software upgrades
  • Negotiated new Structured A/S agreement between QX/QM
  • International coordination initiatives with the FAA such as implementation of NAM ICD II, Random Route Trials W/B and NY Motor Routes

  • I started work with NAV CANADA in the ATOS group at Gander ACC and then qualified in both the High Domestic and Oceanic Specialties
  • After nine years I transferred to Moncton ACC and qualified in the High Specialty where I eventually took on a Supervisor role before entering management in 2007
