Currently I run a type 2IA handcrew of twenty folks. I was a captain since 2020 and in 2023 took over my crew as a crew boss. My responsibility's as acrew crew boss range from hiring to initial attack.

I've ran type 5 incidents, initial attack, handline construction, fuels reduction, felling projects including heavy equipment, road prep, mop up and everything in between.

• Coordinated with both federal and state agencies during incident response activities.
• Inspected assigned area for new starts, smoke sightings or other signs of active fires.
• Assisted in hazardous fuels reduction projects such as cutting brush, felling trees and chipping debris.
• Responded quickly and effectively to emergency situations while adhering to safety protocols.
• Provided medical aid to injured personnel at the scene of a wildfire incident.
• Conducted mop-up operations to extinguish remaining hot spots and reduce the risk of further spread.
• Built containment lines around the perimeter of an active wildfire using shovels, Pulaskis and chainsaws.
• Assisted in training new firefighters on proper use of safety gear and techniques for containing wildfires.
• Performed backfire operations to contain advancing fires by burning fuel ahead of them.
• Provided fire suppression and containment for wildland fires using hand tools, pumps, hoses and other equipment.
• Utilized GPS systems to map out areas burned by wildfires and create accurate records of fire perimeters.
• Communicated regularly with Incident Command System personnel via radio transmissions about progress made in containing a fire.
• Stayed in close contact with dispatchers to obtain and relay current information about fire status, supplies and personnel.
• Utilized incident command systems and protocols during firefighting and emergency operations.
• Performed wildfire suppression duties, including constructing firebreaks, and deploying water and retardant.
• Operated firefighting equipment, including chainsaws, fire pumps, and hoses, under hazardous conditions.
• Educated and trained new wildland firefighters in tactics, safety, and equipment use.
• Assisted in emergency medical operations and provided first aid as needed.
• Conducted controlled burns to reduce wildfire risks and manage ecosystems.
• Assisted in the development and implementation of fire management plans and policies.
• Utilized navigation skills in remote areas to reach and suppress wildfires.
• Coordinated with aviation units for aerial firefighting support and reconnaissance.
• Collaborated with local, state, and federal agencies during large-scale fire suppression operations.
