Frequently this required picking up patients from the laboratory reception area and bringing them to the procedure room. We would explain the procedure to the patient in a manner that would minimize their apprehension. The procedure involves a doctor inserting an fine needle into palpable, or visible via diagnostic imaging techniques, and taking the needle from said pathologist to prepare a high quality specimen or specimens presentation to facilitate diagnosis.
