Summary

I started my career as a Paramedic in 1997 in Shippagan, NB. I moved to Bathurst in 1999 where I had the opportunity to advance my career with several courses and training sessions. During my paramedic career, I have trained personnel and acquired varied experiences. In early 2006, I started my training at the Atlantic Police Academy and successfully completed in September 2006. In 2007, I began working as a Constable on the patrol unit at the Bathurst Police Force. In 2011, I trained to be a Police Tactical Medic. In 2012, I was put into the specialized drug section. I continue to keep up to date on medic training skills.

  • This might include: using defibrillation (electric shock therapy) on patients with heart failure using spinal and traction splints and intravenous drips administering oxygen and drugs.
  • The paramedic is also responsible for driving the ambulance, keeping accurate records and checking that the vehicle and equipment are running properly.
