  • Improving the Yield of Echocardiography in the Diagnosis of Infective Endocarditis in Febrile Injection Drug Users, Patrick Zaidel MD, Steve Cheung MD, Anita Palepu MD, Chris Thompson MD, John Jue MD, A prospective, multicenter observational study presently in progress, aiming to clarify the role of echocardiography in injection drug users presenting to the emergency department with fever suspected of having endocarditis.
  • Positive Predictive Value of Leukocytosis in the Diagnosis of Acute Myocardial Infarction, Patrick Zaidel MD, Ken Gin MD, Saul Isserow MD, A retrospective study evaluating the usefulness of leukocytosis in diagnosing an acute MI in patients presenting to the emergency department with chest pain and a non-diagnostic EKG.
