As an interdisciplinary educator with over a decade of postsecondary teaching experience, I aim to create learning environments that are participatory, inclusive, and either grounded in real-world challenges or creative approaches to take ideas to projects. My teaching experience draws on my academic background in geography, environmental studies, design history, and communication. I prioritize active classroom engagement through discussion, case studies, and collaborative activities that encourage students to connect course material to their lived experiences and global contexts. My approach to assessment emphasizes transparency, diverse modes of evaluation, and formative feedback. I often incorporate several smaller assignments with a mix of written work, presentations, and applied research projects to support different learning styles and build transferable skills. Whether teaching in-person or online, I aim to cultivate curiosity, critical thinking, and a sense of intellectual ownership among students. I am especially committed to creating inclusive spaces that respect diverse perspectives and encourage thoughtful dialogue.
