- Completed experiments independently according to lab protocols, including: PCR, DNA digestion, ligation; transformations and colony screening; protein purification, concentration, and quantification; running DSF and ICD binding assays; preparation of agarose and SDS-PAGE gels, as well as various buffers, media, and plates.
- Developed skills in interpreting laboratory results, including agarose and SDS-PAGE gel electrophoresis images, Bradford assays, and DSF and ICD binding assay results.
- Applied critical thinking skills when troubleshooting issues encountered during experimentation or while interpreting results from any collected data sets, for example by revising the ratio of plasmid and vector volumes used in ligation following unsuccessful attempts.
- Adhered to laboratory safety procedures.
- Attended all lab meetings, gave a 45-minute project presentation with my lab partner to present our research to the lab, and produced a formal lab report independently.
