I have recently been approached by friends and neighbours to look after their young children. These opportunities have arisen as I have built strong relationships with parents and children, and have demonstrated my trustworthiness, care and attention to safety when responsible for the children.
Recently I was a key member of my school team at the START Hackathon.
Hosted at the Edinburgh University Futures Institute, the intense six hour process required collaboration to design, develop and pitch a product to a panel of expert judges. We worked with a team of experienced mentors from a variety of business backgrounds to refine our product - SanoScale, an app used to track nutrients, and ingredients in food products while also offering alternative options and recipes.
My team and I were triumphant, being chosen by the judges as the competition winners; beating seven other teams from across the country, all of whom were older than us.
This experience required team work, presentation skills, efficiency work planning and execution, strict time management and problem solving.
