I am an undergraduate student interested in applying mathematics and statistical methods to work and research in various domains.
Over the summers I work on various Me.N.U Foodtruck catering events where my responsibilities included food preparation, customer service and clean up.
In a paid research assistant position I worked with a team of University of Toronto post graduate students and students from the University of Berkeley using similar location-based mobility data from cell service providers. The goal of the research was to compare the economic activity spurred by large events (such as concerts and sports games) in cities across the US and Canada. This was done using GIS data sets to model population densities and movements before, during and after such events.
With the help of PHAC's (Public Health Agency of Canada) Youth Grant I founded the Hunting Run's project to promote youth activity in pickup basketball in Toronto.
Responsibilities included front of house, table service and general cleaning.
Inspired by my own experiences, I conducted an investigation into the use of Toronto's recreational services during the pandemic. The research method used both GIS and location-based mobility data sets, created by myself and provided by local service providers, to track usage of both outdoor and indoor recreational facilities across Toronto. A write up of this study (published on February 13th 2024), which can be found on the School of Cities' "City Beats Blog," explores the findings of the study and its implications on local policy.
Advised and supported head coach in practice and in game as a volunteer coach for the u13-u15 North Toronto Boys rep teams.
