Primary Healthcare Coordinator

Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Authority
  • Pioneered the establishment of a viable and sustainable Drug Revolving Fund ( DRF) Scheme for the local government primary healthcare system
  • Delivered formidable leadership and governance in the day-to-day running of primary healthcare in the local government
  • Established and nurtured, together with other members of the team, the Community Based Health Insurance Scheme (CBHIS) in 2011
  • This was the first of its kind in the state following the pivot scheme by the State Ministry of Health in Isheri/Olowora in Ikosi/Isheri local council development authority of Kosofe LGA
  • The scheme served to improve healthcare access for the poor-of-the-poor in rural communities of Ibeju/Lekki Local Government area of the state
  • The scheme continues to run in the local government till date
  • Collaborated with development partners to mobilize resources for health programs/activities
  • A good example of such collaborations was our relationship with " Partnership for The Transforming Health Systems-2 (PATHS-2), an offshoot of UK-DFID
  • This partnership provided a lot of support for the primary healthcare in Ibeju/Lekki then
  • Partnered successfully with an NGO- “Sharing With Others" for needs assessment survey and intervention on health education and promotional activities which took impacted over 100 very rural, hard-to-reach and riverine communities in Ibeju/Lekki LGA and Lekki LCDA of the state
  • Collaborated successfully with other MDAs in bringing more resources for healthcare activities
  • In this regard, partnership was driven with other MDAs on Millenium Development Goals/Conditional Grant Scheme (MDG/CGS)
  • The collaboration in this case led to the procurement of a brand-new Toyota Hillux utility vehicle as well as a brand new ambulance vehicle for the primary healthcare activities in Ibeju/Lekki LGA.
