Accomplishments

  • Honors Thesis: Economic Ripple Effects: Analyzing Policy and Effort Shifts in BC’s Commercial Salmon Fisheries
Designed and executed an original econometric study to analyze the effects of Individual Transferable Quotas in British Columbia’s salmon fishery. Applied panel data methods, including the Fixed Effects Counterfactual Estimator, to evaluate impacts on fleet dynamics, fishing effort, and species targeting. Results showed ITQs increased fishing days and vessel participation but also raised sustainability concerns through quota-induced highgrading.
  • Honorable Mention Ken Avio Award for best honors thesis in the faculty of economics.
  • In Program Dean's List: 7.49 GPA (out of 9.0)
