As a hardworking Social Worker, I believe work life balance is crucial in maintaining optimum functioning. Reading to me is a form of entertainment, the equivalent of watching Netflix or going to the cinema. Which is why when I choose a book to read, it just has to entertain me in some way.
I read books and articles for knowledge and/or entertainment, reading helps mold my mind. I have an incredibly vivid imagination and when I read I am actually inside the book, I AM the characters (all of them). What the author leaves out, my imagination fills in (faces, textures, background, noises, smells, colours).
Swimming has made me strive to be the best I can be physically, mentally, and personally. Swimming enables me to take my mind off things. For instance, If I had a stressful day or a bad test, or whatever it may have been, I can always count on swimming to be there for me. As soon as I hit the water, no matter what time it is, I immediately forget everything. I see my goals, I see where I want to be in life, and swimming helps me achieve them. Swimming will always be a big part of my life. Whenever I am going for a holiday, travelling for work, I make sure to book hotels with swimming pool as I cannot imagine myself going in a hotel without a pool. I enjoy the many challenges swimming has to offer.
I have also had a passion for movies as a child and I have remained like that even as an adult. I love to watch movies as they help to expand my imagination, draw me into another world, and relax me. I love thrillers, comedy, drama and psychological movies. When my kids were younger, I used to go to the cinema with them to watch animated movies with them.
I am a focuser when it comes to watching movies. If I am watching movies with others and they try to talk to me I am often so absorbed in the movie that I will not even realize that they have spoken. I also do not like people telling about movies I have not seen as it takes away the excitement and the intrigues of seeing that movie.
I also love watching interesting series and I love to catch up on the ones I missed.
