ALARM DISPATCHER

- Respond to incoming alarm signals according to documented procedures and accurately annotate each action taken for historical records
- Receive reports of fires, fire alarms, medical emergencies, and hazardous material spills and/or incidents by radio, telephone, alarm system, verbally and/or through the Plant Shift Superintendents (PSS)
- Maintain appropriate knowledge, familiarity, and application of Plant Standards and procedures
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of applicable Federal, State, DOE, Corporate, and Plant rules, regulations, and Plant-wide operating policies and procedures
- Dispatch police, fire, or guard service for alarm signals as necessary
- Activate alarm system to notify fire stations
- Question caller to determine the nature of problem and the type and number of personnel and equipment needed, following established guidelines
- Monitor alarm system signals that indicate the location of fire or another emergency
- Operate communications system to dispatch fire, medical, and other personnel and equipment
- Dispatch police, fire, or guard service as necessary.
