Labour and Delivery ( MNNO program)

Currently working on Unit 4E and becoming orientated to labour and delivery since January 2024.

Duties include:

- Working closely with providers and midwifes in coaching patients throughout childbirth and assisting with deliverers including vacuum and forceps delivery's and providing post-natal recovery

- Utilizing OBIX to monitor maternal contractions and FHR and providing timely interventions as needed

-Discussing and administrating pain management options including: breathing techniques, positioning, counter pressure, IV inhaled analgesia, and epidural management.

- Attended a Spinning Babies seminar and became familiar with optimal maternal positioning to enhance

- The role of baby nurse for emergent and elective cesarean sections

Currently working casually on Unit 3B1 : Day Surgery

Duties include :

• Providing care to pre and post op patients services including general, urology, plastics, ENT, orthopedic, trauma, neurology, cardiac, and transplants
• Provided direct patient care, stabilized patients and determined next course of action.
• Educated patients, families and caregivers on diagnosis and prognosis, treatment options, disease process and management and lifestyle options.
• Trained new nurses in proper techniques, care standards, operational procedures and safety protocols.
• I have been trained to do all start times of charge nurse shifts on this unit.

Emergency
-Provided direct patient care, including assessment and evaluation of health status, development of individualized plans of care and implementation of nursing interventions.
- Managed multiple tasks while providing timely, high quality patient care.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Monitored, recorded, and reported symptoms or changes in patients ' conditions.

- Reduced hospital readmissions through effective discharge planning, patient education, and follow-up care coordination.

Worked casually alongside the mass immunization program for COVID-19 for adults and children

Duties include

• Continuous education of new protocols, patient assessment, vaccine preparation, and immunization
• Observed patient to chart and report changes in patient condition and adverse reactions post vaccination
