As a Volunteer Childcare Assistant, provided hands-on support to daycare staff in a nurturing and educational environment for young children (ages infant to 5 years). Responsibilities included:

• Assisting with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, and nap supervision
• Engaging children in age-appropriate educational and recreational activities
• Supporting social and emotional development through positive interaction
• Helping maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment
• Monitoring child behavior and reporting concerns to lead staff
• Assisting in setting up and cleaning classroom materials and play areas
• Promoting a warm and welcoming atmosphere for children, parents, and staff

Completed a hands-on practicum placement as part of an early childhood education program, gaining experience in child development, classroom management, and curriculum support. Key responsibilities included:

• Assisting lead teachers with daily lesson plans and classroom activities
• Supporting children’s learning through guided play, storytelling, art, and sensory activities
• Observing and documenting developmental milestones under the guidance of staff
• Promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment for children of diverse backgrounds
• Helping with transitions such as arrival, snack time, and outdoor play
• Building positive relationships with children, families, and staff through effective communication
• Participating in team meetings and contributing to classroom planning and reflection
