  • Counsel patients or health care team about possible drug interactions and give special administration instructions
  • Manage drug distribution: adhere to the correct format of a prescription, ensure prescription authorization, interpret drug orders, identify drug products, recognize normal drug doses and available dosage forms of medication, perform pharmaceutical calculation, compounding and dispensing medication using appropriate labels, recognize forged prescription, recognize patterns of inappropriate use of drugs, provide and verify the Emergency medication supply etc.
  • Worked with automated dispensing systems to securely store medication and track narcotics and other controlled drugs
  • Help nursing staff with questions about new technologies and eMAR updates
  • Remained knowledgeable about health insurance and other third-party payment programs to facilitate purchases
  • Review with Pharmacy Manager and submit medication related incidents and provide recommendation to prevent recurrence
  • Assist Pharmacy Manager in training of new staff
