Shift Manager Operations Superintendent

  • Work with and support the longshore workers of the 514 and 502 union at the Fraser Surrey Dock
  • Build relationships with the foreman and use their knowledge and experience to drive productivity of the 502 union members
  • Conduct investigations of accidents and incidents to find route cause and create preventative measures and processes to reduce probability of reoccurrence
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to highlight inefficiencies around the dock such as potential preventative maintenance items that were found. As well as providing windows of opportunity to bring in 3rd party contractors to repair/maintain equipment.
  • Plan and coordinate vessel movements (let go/tie up) stowage, and loading sequences. Works closely with CN Rail to coordinate train movements with the PARY yard.
  • Learn and apply SOP/SWP to ensure the safe working conditions of all of the employees on the dock.

Accomplishments

Capable of coordinating the operation in the Port Coquitlam yard, which is well know as one of the most difficult positions in the company. As a person with zero railroading experience, I was able to rise from a conductor to an assistant superintendent within 6 years.

Affiliations

I started playing tennis when I was in my early 20s and fell in love with the game. I am now an avid tennis player who enjoys playing competitively 3 times a week.

I am a father of 3 young children and couldn't be happier to have 3 of them. Spending time with my kids brings joy to my life and I intend on building a great life for them.
