Succession planning and leadership development of pharmacy and optical managers.

Similar job expectations to my current role. However, I did not oversee optical business. With loblaw, I oversaw all Loblaw pharmacies in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

Workflow Management: Overseeing and optimizing pharmacy workflows, including dispensing, medication management, and automation systems.

Compliance: Ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines and internal policies.

Automation Support: PrI provided support and training for automated dispensing systems using Kroll software.

Training pharmacy staff on new systems, protocols, and procedures.

Quality Improvement: Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance medication safety and efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working with various departments and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.

Customer Service: Responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues related to prescription orders.

Documentation: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation.

Medication Preparation and Dispensing:

Assist pharmacists with preparing, measuring, and packaging medications, ensuring accuracy and following safety protocols.

Maintain pharmacy inventory, including restocking shelves, checking expiration dates, and managing supplies.

Proving a great patient experience

Provide friendly and helpful service to customers, answering questions about medications, and assisting with purchases.

Prescription Processing and Data Entry:

Receive and process prescription orders, enter patient information into the system, and manage patient records.

Administrative Duties:

Handle routine tasks like answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing billing and insurance information.

In some settings, assistants may assist with preparing customized medications or compounding and sterilizing equipment.
