Recreation leader
DRPD After School Program
11.2017 - 10.2020
For three years I worked for the Durham Recreation and Parks Department as a Recreation Leader at the
Durham After School Program
I ran activities, established safe environments for all students, facilitated structured
time for school work, and created clubs and events—Movie Makers Club, Middle School Haunted House for Hal-
loween, and Annual Mural Painting were a few ideas that I came up with and implemented in the program
My abili-
ty to work well with kids, as demonstrated by my work at the After School Program, also opened other positions for
me in childcare: babysitting positions from parents, coaching in basketball and tee-ball through the Durham Parks
Department, and even teaching at a local homeschool as requested by parents who had children attending the Af-
ter School Program.
