Summary

As an international immigrant physician, I relocated to Canada to in 2007 to start my medical career. This experience has provided me with valuable insights into the challenges faced by international candidates seeking licensure in Canada. In addition, I have served as Primary Assessor on three occasions for PRABC, gaining a thorough understanding of the responsibilities and demands placed on assessors. I believe that my unique perspective and unwavering belief in the success of this program make me a valuable asset to the organization. I am committed to contributing to the continued success and growth of the program.

I am currently collaborating with an Indigenous partner, Jared Basil, to deliver Cultural Safety and Humility training tailored specifically for physicians. Our workshop spans four hours and delves into an Indigenous patient's experience in the Emergency Department. To date, we have conducted this course in six towns, reaching about 120 physicians and nurses. I am pleased to report that the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Our intention is to sustain this initiative for the upcoming year.
