Reporting to the Director of Security & Loss Prevention, my role is to act as the Guardian and Protector in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of my fellow employees, guests and distinguished visitors

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Patrol 665,000 sqFt
• Citing insecurities and fire hazards
• Ensure the overall safety and security of the hotel guests, Colleagues and hotel premises
• Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team, responding in cases of fire, accident, safety concerns and calls for medical assistance
• Ensure that any violations to law or hotel policy is investigated and reported
• Respond to all emergency situations and provide First Aid and C.P.R As required
• Report and investigate occurrences of accidents, complaints, criminal activity, and crisis situations
• Conduct regular floor patrols, cash counts and crowd control
• Conduct departmental key control audits and maintain key control records
• Maintain computer records of all actions in a Daily Activity Report
• Provide close protection services for Various VIPs staying on the premises, and coordinate with local police and foreign CP agencies (list of VIPs can be provided at your request)

Working 12-hour shifts on a 2-week continental rotation in an assigned GardaWorld Marked vehicle, I was the team lead for the mobile division, as well as the Field supervisor for all site guards and site supervisors filling static positions around Ottawa, ON

In addition to conducting patrols, being assigned to special-details (Political events, close protection, etc...), providing backup and reinforcements for any other units, and liaising with Law-enforcement, I would respond to and assign alarms to members of the team based on their location. Moreover, as the field-supervisor I would regularly complete inspections on many guards and sites, assessing employee performance and compliance with regulations and policies.

Through this position, I have used, worn, and carried safety equipment such as Handcuffs, Batons, and Ballistics vests

The Gardaworld mobile division in Ottawa (National Capital region) has a jurisdiction ranging from Kingston, ON., to Pembroke, ON.

Responsible for conducting patrols, surveillance of sites, emergency alarm response, ticket enforcement, protection services, and other security functions, the Mobile team acts as a "catch all" for GardaWorld security services.

Working under the Field Supervisor (Designated as "KILO-1"), I held the "KILO-4" position, and was assigned primarily to the West-end of Ottawa and the Renfrew County area. My duties included:

• Enhanced security presence by conducting thorough mobile patrols of assigned areas.
• Addressing or removing any and all security risks in a given site or alarmed-response area
• Contributed to a safer community by proactively identifying potential security risks and taking necessary action.
• Adhered to strict confidentiality guidelines, safeguarding sensitive client information and maintaining the utmost discretion in all interactions.
• Collaborated with team members to cover large areas effectively, ensuring comprehensive patrolling services.
• Provided timely support during emergency situations, coordinating efforts with local law enforcement agencies when required.
• Conducted spot checks on access points and perimeter barriers, ensuring the integrity of client properties remained uncompromised at all times.

• While living a year abroad in Europe, I worked on the American Air Base located in Ramstein, Germany
• In addition to another position, I worked at the Canadian Club/Mess as a Bartender serving many drinks and provided varied services to both Canadians, and members of other NATO countries
• Working here allowed me to become very adaptable and proficient in learning how to serve and communicate quickly and efficiently with individuals of different languages and cultures

• While living abroad in Germany, in addition to working as a Bartender, I secured employment at the Canadian Canteen Liquor store as a Sales associate
• The store specialized in high-end whiskeys, specifically scotch and other premium products that were difficult to import
• In addition to being a top salesman, I developed excellent customer service delivery, and communication skills, both verbal and written in order to bridge the language barrier in communicating with different members of NATO
• This position allowed me to interact with and sell whiskeys to some of the top officials and generals in NATO, the CAF, as well as the U.S
• Military

• I was a Grocery Clerk at the Independent Grocer in Petawawa ON, while attending Algonquin Colleges Police Foundations program
• This allowed me to increase my time management skills, having to both work and complete a college program simultaneously

• I held the position of youth coordinator for summer camps
• Overseeing anywhere from 7-14 youths aged 6-12, I developed strong leadership skills by managing activities and the daily programming for the youths from start to finish

• Worked as a Youth coordinator taking charge of up to 14 children aged 6-12 at an after-school youth center located in the north end of Winnipeg, MB
• This position developed my patience, leadership abilities, and communication skills as I took charge and provided activities for usually troubled youth
