Work History

Research Associate II - Antibody Development

BioLegend
San Diego
02.2024 - Current
  • Developed monoclonal antibodies against 50+ cellular, immune, and signaling protein targets, designing ELISAs, and Western blots to identify candidates with the highest commercial potential.
  • Performed in vivo mouse and rat procedures, including footpad, subcutaneous, and intraperitoneal injections, and submandibular blood collection, under awake and isoflurane-anesthetized conditions.
  • Contributed to the development of a rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody development process by screening transfection supernatants, and optimizing protocols for a new platform.
  • Maintained hybridoma and mammalian cell cultures (adherent and suspension), supporting assay development through the preparation of lysates, flow cytometry cells, and other screening reagents.
  • Operated advanced laboratory instrumentation, including the Celigo Imaging Cytometer, plate handler™ FLEX, ClonePix2 Mammalian Colony Picker, and Nexcelom cell counters, to support experimental workflows.
  • Trained and cross-trained team members in immunoassays, in vivo animal procedures, and lab instrumentation, using personal proficiency to enhance team performance, and ensure compliance with protocols.

Undergraduate Researcher

Zengler Lab, University of California, San Diego
San Diego
04.2021 - 07.2023
  • Designed and executed experiments using a model rhizosphere bacterial community to study soil microbiome dynamics.
  • Performed advanced microbiology techniques, including aerobic and anaerobic bacterial culturing, complex media preparation, DNA/RNA extraction, Illumina library construction, and BIOLOG microplate assays.
  • Communicated research findings through weekly lab presentations and at UCSD’s 35th Annual Undergraduate Research Conference on “Constructing a Synthetic, Reproducible Consortia to Study the Soil Microbiome.”
