A highly dedicated and results-driven professional with extensive experience in social services, customer service, and administrative support. Known for attention to detail, problem-solving, and effective communication skills, I have demonstrated my ability to manage client cases, provide exceptional support, and handle multiple responsibilities across fast-paced environments. With high honors in Business Administration and Marketing & Sales, along with specialized certifications in conflict management, leadership, and mental health first aid, I bring both academic knowledge and practical expertise to every role. My commitment to fostering positive relationships and delivering quality services makes me an asset to any team.
In February 2025, I transitioned into my current position as a Specialist Clerk II within the Alameda County Social Services Agency, specifically in the Department of Workforce and Benefits – Program Planning and Support Division, where I serve as an Intake Specialist for the Season of Sharing Program.
In this capacity, I provide one-time financial assistance to Alameda County residents facing unexpected crises. I handle a high volume of client inquiries, primarily via phone, email, and online video platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams, with occasional in-person interactions. My core responsibilities include conducting screening intakes to determine eligibility for emergency financial support related to housing, utility assistance, or physician-prescribed medical equipment for events that have occurred within the past six months.
I work closely with clients to verify their identity, gather and upload supporting documentation, and complete the online application process. I also assess client needs to determine the appropriate type of assistance and ensure that all required documentation is obtained and accurately processed. As part of the application workflow, I contact landlords to confirm rental details and request necessary tax documents such as W-9 forms, ensuring compliance with fiscal agent requirements.
In cases where clients are not eligible for seasonal services, I provide referrals to alternative resources, including 211, Keep People Housed, Echo Housing, and the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP).
I also assist with developing and managing intake collection documents and utilize both a client web-based system and internal data systems to track applications and service delivery. My responsibilities include creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets to monitor client eligibility and approval status, and using Microsoft Word, OneNote, Outlook, and Teams for communication and documentation.
This role has strengthened my ability to analyze and apply program rules, codes, and administrative procedures, manage shifting priorities, and work independently to meet strict departmental deadlines. I regularly engage with individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, offering tailored guidance while ensuring clarity and compliance with program guidelines.
