Clinical Research Thesis Student (CHEMBIO 4G12), McMaster University, Hamilton, ON, 09/2023, 04/2024, Assessing the impact of maternal cannabis exposure during breastfeeding on breastmilk composition and potential infant neuro-developmental outcomes through a prospective cohort study. Leading participant screening, recruitment, and follow-up, alongside meticulous handling, processing and storage of biological specimens for analysis. Performing advanced breastmilk composition analyses using liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), mid-infrared techniques (milk analyzer) and enzymatic assays to detect and quantify cannabinoids, macronutrients, and lactose levels. Utilizing SPSS for advanced statistical analyses, mastering descriptive and inferential techniques to enhance research data interpretation skills. Research Student (CHEMBIO 3RP3), McMaster University, Hamilton, ON, 06/2022, 08/2022, Developed and validated a robust capillary electrophoresis coupled to UV detection (CE-UV) method for quantification of salivary nitrate and thiocyanate with comparable results to GC-MS and HPLC-UV counterparts and future application in determination of smoking status.
