- Responsibilities included visual inspection, manual cleaning, and high-level disinfection of flexible endoscopes following the manufacturer's IFU's.
- Documented each used endoscope's unique serial number, patient information, leak test results, ATP test results and if any delayed soaking was needed.
- Documented the PASS/FAIL of the high-level disinfection cycles in SPM after checking using the MRC strips. If cycle Failed due to a leak, the endoscope would be CIDEX OPA'd before being sent out for repair.
- Reprocessed expired flexible endoscopes
- Performed and documented the daily calibration of leak testers, dosing verification of Scope Buddies and replacement of the 24-hour Scope Buddy tubing used for manual cleaning.
- Performed weekly endoscope storage cabinet cleaning, waterline disinfection cycles, and weekly/ monthly Medivator maintenance
- Cultured EBUS scopes after returned from repair or quarterly as scheduled
- Reported any damaged endoscopes or equipment to the appropriate team
- Communicated with the GI team and IPOR team to identify any endoscopes that needed to be turned over
