· Assigned in Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Medical-Surgical, NICU and Pediatric Unit
· Administer medications intravenously, by injection, orally, through gastric tubes, or by other methods.
· Assist the physician in conducting medical procedures like inserting intravenous line, central line, removal of chest tube, nasogastric tube insertion, catheterization and other bedside procedure
· Set up and monitor medical equipment and devices such as cardiac monitors, mechanical ventilators and alarms, oxygen delivery devices, transducers, and pressure lines.
· Does Morning Care
· Take Vital Signs for monitoring and recording (changes and alterations documented)
· Implements diet and medication instructions from the patient’s attending doctor
· Coordinates for the patient’s regular check-up and other activities
· Administer medication (as pre ordered by physician)
· Changes dressings, bandages and contraptions as prescribe
· To administer anesthetics to render patients insensible to pain during surgical procedures.
· Provides clean, therapeutic and utmost safety measures for all patients who are unconscious, semi-conscious, and disoriented.
· Prepares and administers medication and other treatment as indicated.
· Suctions secretions of patients as needed.
· Feeds other patients via nasogastric tube with aspiration precaution.
· Handle intubated patient and post open heart surgery
