Reporting to Vice President/GM with staff of 87 in high transition area with over 11,000 SKU's & delivering competitive & quality service to group of clients (including 3PL) from 130,000 square Ft facility
Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and cross training
Managing staffing requirements with supervisors & team leads & ensuring lowest use of overtime
Realigning and redefining capabilities, structures, and interactions required to deliver value to customers
Executing, preparing & maintaining budgets and assisting Accounting & in Financials' Reporting
Managing production and scheduling of display assemblies that nets $10 million of revenue per year
Leading and coordinating team of Quality Assurance of inbound of $60 million annually
Directly overseeing and custodial of Internal Quality Audits, Material Resource Planning (BOMs), Cycle Counts and Physical Inventory (PI) and communicating any discrepancies to Auditors
Directing, implementing, procuring, enhancing and maximize efficiency of Helium Tanks Operation for Canada and export to UK and Poland which is accumulating $30 million in sales. Maintaining professional and constant communication with their suppliers for tanks in China and Canada
Ensuring proper percentage of labor is charged to individual departments
Ensuring daily pre-shift meetings cover productivity, operational concerns and forecasting workload
Monitoring all equipment and managing preventative maintenance schedules and work orders
Properly signing and authorizing all POs' requisitions, vouchers and customer billing and expenditures
Enforcing and following Canada Labor Code, OHSA, MOL, MOT, ESA and regulatory provisions, adhering to Goods Manufacturing Practices (GMP) & WSIB
Directly oversee and chair the Health & Safety committee
Responsible for fireworks Import and renewing their magazine licenses with Natural Resource (NRC)
Reviewing and approving all staff's (including temporary from recruitment agencies) time sheets
Key Accomplishments at Unique:
2017 - Moved to newer facility in Brampton and handled logistics effectively with support of team which led to smooth transition with respect to facility layout, racking projects and proper relocation
Receiving & Shipping sortation were re-designed
Purchased new material handling equipment (Raymond Reach trucks, Order Pickers, Turret Trucks in accordance with new layout)
Effectively negotiated with different suppliers
In 2019 handled the Helium Tanks Project in terms of space, layout, drawings & design until final implementation which increased sales by 35% per year
Effectively designed new conveyor sortation system's layout and had large part in its implementation
Developed, streamlined, finalized an implementation for the co.'s website where the QA Alerts, Safety Data Sheets, SOPs', & major procedures for various assemblies and BOMs for easy access
Participated in the successful development, testing, implementation, and set up of latest SAP based ERP WMS RF system & Oracle JD Edwards (JDE) for transactional accuracy and data integrity
Introduced and implemented a new strategy (Pick & Pass) of batch picking which resulted in 30% increased productivity towards picks which ultimately reduced 20% less resources
Devised, organized, and implemented comprehensive full space utilization at docks
Also, formulated plan in increasing pallet storage by 20% (square feet) with consolidation
Initiated, launched, empowered & created numerous reports used to analyze volumes, replenishment, inventory turnover, shipping staging, orders sortation, fill-rates & back orders
Developed, enhanced and optimized transportation and distribution procedures to maximize efficiency.
