Morley Smith

I am a second-year Practical Nursing student at NSCC in Amherst, NS. Since starting the program in September 2023, I have provided nursing care independently under a preceptor to patients with an established plan of care, applied nursing knowledge, critical thinking and problem-solving skills in various situations during my clinical placements. I further demonstrated the knowledge, skills and judgement needed to provide competent care using evidence-based nursing practice during these experiences. I further demonstrated the ability to assess patients' needs, provide nursing intervention, administer treatments, and support patient recovery with empathy and precision within my scope as a student. I am looking to leverage these skills in a new, dynamic environment as a Graduate Practical Nurse as I work towards becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse with Nova Scotia Health.

• 2012-2022, Player with Halifax Dunbrack Soccer Club.
• 2012-2017, Camp Participant Unicorn Theatre, St. Margaret’s Bay, took part in week-long camps at the theatre, playing various roles, singing, dancing, scene preparation, rehearsals, and performances.
• 2015-2016, Canadian Red Cross swimming lessons, second highest level completed Bronze Medallion.
• 2015-2017, Member of the YHZ Track Club, middle distance, and cross-country running.
