• Gained hands-on experience in workshop health and safety protocols.
• Trained in diagnosing and troubleshooting both starting and charging systems (batteries, starters, alternators, solenoids, and magnetic switches).
• Developed knowledge about the mechanics and operation of a variety of heavy equipment diesel engines and their fuel subsystems.
• Successfully disassembled and reassembled: Cummins QSL9 engine, Detroit DD15 engine, gear pumps, vane pumps, and axial piston pumps, hydraulic wet disc brakes and alternators.
• Familiar with different types of foundation brakes used on both highway and offload heavy equipment such as: shoes C drums, caliper C rotor, and single C multi wet disc brakes.
• Trained to perform MIG welding as well as oxy-acetylene welding C cutting.
• Familiar with track drive undercarriage systems as well as some working attachments used in the heavy equipment industry.

Mechanical aptitude: Understand mechanical systems and operations. Familiar with tools and their right applications.
Electrical systems: Knowledge of electrical concepts, schematics, troubleshooting, diagnostic procedures
Hydraulic Systems: Familiar with schematic diagrams, gauges, hydraulic components (pumps, valves, hoses, filters, reservoirs, hydraulic fluids).
Diagnostic capabilities: Familiar with diagnostic scanners, diagnostic software (CAT SIS 2.O, Cummins (Insite C Quickserve) and diagnostic tools such as multimeter, testers and gauges.
Preventative maintenance: Familiar with the National Safety Code (NSC) for inspection.
Safety Awareness: Ample training on preventive safety and reactive safety in various working environments.
Computer Literacy s Research: Ability to utilize AI tools amongst others, in finding specific information and resources on parts, components and service procedures.
Record Keeping: Ability to write concise service reports, create parts list and keep work timelines.
Communication: Ability to write, read and speak fluent English.
