The Imam is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering all Islamic programs, functions, and services for the community, including: 1. Leading the daily prayers at the Islamic center. 2. Leading the Jum’ah prayers (1st and 2nd) and to deliver the khutbas except when there is a guest Khatib. 3. Leading the Eid Prayers and to deliver the khutbah except when there is a guest Khatib. 4. Leading the Tarawih prayers during the month of Ramadan. 5. Providing religious advice for matrimonial and divorce matters to families in need. 6. Providing funeral services and guidance. Lead Janazah Prayers and accompany the Mayet and family to the cemetery for every burial. 7. Providing for the spiritual growth through developing and teaching educational programs and other activities. 8. Teaching Islamic studies. 9. Participate in the evaluation and selection of qualified teachers and speakers. 10. Participate in reviewing and selecting information resources (Books, periodical and media) pertaining to Islam for the School and Library. 11. Provides other religious guidance services as needed. 12. Participates at Da’wah forum and build healthy relations with other groups and communities. 13. Represent the Society as the speaker to the community at large on religious affairs. 14. Developing and implementing Da’wah program. 15. Developing and implementing educational program for the Muslim community as well as new Muslims. 16. Provide guidance for the spiritual growth of the youth through educational programs and other activities. 17. Give fatwas as needed (authoritative interpretation of the Qur'an and Sunnah). 18. Work with Shura and Executive Board on annual fundraising programs. 19. Advise the Shura and Executive Board of all religious occasions and events. 20. Plan Imam’s activities and submit a monthly report of such activities to the Executive Board. 21. Act as a resource person for other organized community activities.

▪ Plan, organize and implement a wide array of activities, events and programs including: youth outings, summer programs (i.e., overnight camp), Ramadan programs, tutoring programs, job training programs, life skills classes, halaqas (study circles), leadership training, etc. ▪ Help in creating a youth friendly culture at the BICC Center and empower youth to feel ownership of their Center. 2 ▪ Recruit, cultivate and retain local youth for program participation and leadership ▪ Recruit, develop and maintain a network of volunteers to serve as chaperones, help plan and execute youth activities and events ▪ Help community youth resolve conflicts, overcome life hurdles, and replace undesirable habits with acceptable behaviors ▪ Provide coaching to youth and references to professional counselors as needed ▪ Outreach to regular and non-regular youth attendees of the BICC Center ▪ Prepare and deliver youth speeches, and khutbahs as needed ▪ Be accessible to youth outside of normal office hours for urgent issues ▪ Support, improve and help maintain existing educational programs at the BICC Center ▪ Outline of gender specific activities and programming as appropriate and applicable ▪ Create and maintain a youth database which tracks all program participant attendance ▪ Hold regular office hours at the BICC ▪ Represent the BICC at meetings, coalitions, and events with the internal and external community ▪ Meet with the BICC Board of Directors on regular basis to discuss progress and receive feedback and suggestions ▪ Participate in trainings and conferences for further professional development ▪ Perform other duties as assigned by the BICC Board of Directors
1. Lead at least 3 prayers (Fajar, Maghreb, Isha) a day. 6 days a week.
2. Give the Khutbah and lead prayer for Jumu’ah and Eid Prayers.
3. Provide Hadith studies, Seerah and Fiqh lessons, and other Islamic topics to increase knowledge and provide for spiritual growth of community members.
4. Participate in the community activities that further good interfaith and public relations for Islam and Muslims.
5. Develop and implement educational and extracurricular programs for the youth.
6. Work with Masjid Committee on annual fundraising programs for the community as needed.
7. Provide consultation to the Masjid Committee on religious matters, community issues, and Mosque activities as requested.
8. Work approximately 40 hours per week.
9. Maintain regular and convenient office hours at the Mosque for community members to seek religious guidance.
10. Interact with all persons and organizations, Muslim and Non-Muslim, in a manner that reflects positively on the Mosque.
11. Continually strive and conduct oneself in ways that foster unity and a sense of inclusion among all community members and promote broad participation in Islamic and community activities.
12. Lead by example to prevent discrimination on any basis including but not limited to school of thought, gender, race, nationality, ethnic origin, citizenship, political affiliation, or economic status.
