Explanation For Break In Practice

December 2022 - present, During this period, I was involved in activities to further my medical knowledge, settle in Canada, and meet the requirements for citizenship. Upon immigrating to Canada, my primary focus was to settle and meet the necessary criteria for obtaining citizenship. This transition required significant time and attention to various administrative tasks, including securing housing, obtaining necessary documentation, and familiarizing myself with the Canadian healthcare system. I also seized the opportunity to pursue further education in clinical research. In 2023, I successfully completed a postgraduate clinical research degree, which enriched my understanding of research methodologies and evidence-based practices. Under the guidance of Dr. Ilan Fischler, CPSO#77924, Chief of Psychiatry and Medical Director of the Mental Health and Addiction Program at Scarborough Health Network, I gained practical skills and deepened my understanding of the Canadian healthcare system. Despite the temporary hiatus from clinical practice, I remained committed to keeping my medical knowledge updated and relevant. I actively engaged in various educational activities during this period to enhance my skills and competencies. For instance, I participated in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) training sessions at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. I acquired essential skills in diagnostic ultrasound and life-saving interventions. Looking ahead, I am eagerly planning to renew my Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certifications. These courses will not only keep me updated on the latest advancements in emergency medical care but also ensure that I am always well-prepared to handle critical situations effectively.
