Work History

R&D Engineer I – Electrophysiology Access Solution

Boston Scientific
06.2024 - Current

  • Co-developed the VersaHub EP Generator, a next-gen RF platform intended to replace the 100A unit, focused on architecture validation, system-level integration, and electrical safety.

  • Created a physical benchtop simulation model using electrical components and SOLIDWORKS for septal puncture procedures—mimicking transcatheter access routes and valve placement workflows—reducing reliance on preclinical animal studies; model under patent/trade secret evaluation. Received a recognition prize across the company for this design.

  • Created a physical benchtop simulation model using SOLIDWORKS and electrical components for septal puncture procedures—mimicking transcatheter access routes and valve placement workflows—reducing reliance on preclinical animal studies; model under patent/trade secret evaluation.

  • Collected real-time puncture procedure data from the benchtop model and pre-clinical lab studies, including voltage, current, and impedance data via oscilloscope and generator logs.

  • Analyzed procedure data using MATLAB to extract signal profiles, identify failure points, and support design iteration of catheter wires and access components.

  • Co-designed and bench tested a novel catheter-based access wire; contributed to optimization of electrical and mechanical design parameters for safe and effective septal puncture. Design under patent evaluation.

  • Collaborated cross-functionally with firmware, mechanical, and quality teams to align test coverage with system requirements. Supported physician demonstration models and contributed to post-commercialization usability testing.

Electrical Designer Engineer CO-OP

AES Engineering
01.2023 - 08.2023
  • Utilized industry-standard software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and ETAP for schematic design, load calculations, and electrical analysis.

  • Designed critical power systems, including backup generators and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units, to ensure uninterrupted operation of medical equipment and facilities. Collaborated with facility staff to accommodate specialized electrical requirements for medical equipment and patient care areas.

  • Assisted in the preparation of construction documents, including detailed drawings, specifications, and equipment schedules.

  • Commercial High-Rise Project: Collaborated on the electrical design of a 30-story commercial high-rise building in downtown Vancouver.

  • Designed power distribution systems, lighting layouts, and emergency backup systems

Electrical Engineer CO-OP

Shift Clean Energy
09.2022 - 12.2022
  • Designed and implemented Battery Backup Units (BBUs) using SOLIDWORKS, incorporating industry best practices and standards.

  • Designed and optimized printed circuit boards to meet stringent performance and reliability standards using Altium for PCB development.

  • Installed sensors and developed software solutions to facilitate real-time monitoring and data collection of temperature and voltage parameters from BBUs and PBUs, enhancing operational visibility and control

Biomedical Engineer Intern

Cairo Medical
05.2021 - 08.2021
  • Conducted performance verification and calibration procedures for Protec Diagnostic Instruments as ECG machines, defibrillators, and patient monitors, maintaining accurate diagnostic capabilities in clinical settings
  • Evaluated potential materials for use in medical devices based on their biocompatibility, strength, and durability properties.
