Mitch Sophocleous

As part of the Facilities division with the City of London, I work directly alongside skilled trades professionals, including electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and refrigeration specialists. This hands-on role has provided me with practical, on-site experience across multiple trades and building systems. I have supported the completion of maintenance, repair, and installation tasks in a variety of work environments, often under time-sensitive or challenging conditions. Throughout this position, I have developed a strong understanding of workplace safety, professional conduct, and technical problem-solving. Exposure to a wide range of tools and techniques has strengthened my adaptability and work ethic, while allowing me to learn industry practices and standards firsthand from experienced tradespeople.

At SportChek, I work in the hardgoods department, where I engage in various tasks, such as merchandise sales, assisting with inventory, operating equipment, and fulfiling daily responsibilities. I effectively collaborate with colleagues and provide knowledgeable assistance to customers. Additionally, I adapt quickly to new technologies, and efficiently manage evolving tasks.

I teach the fundamentals of shooting a hockey puck, and help students develop effective shooting habits.

My responsibilities include leading group sessions, onboarding new participants, demonstrating dryland exercises, and instructing ice drills. I am also tasked with managing time effectively, communicating with students, colleagues, and parents, and maintaining control in a dynamic, high-energy environment.

I have been responsible for the basic upkeep of a residence over an extended period, performing tasks such as snow removal, lawn care, landscaping, and general property maintenance to ensure both aesthetic appeal and functionality. My goal was to provide the homeowner with confidence and peace of mind while they were away. I gained experience operating various machinery, including lawnmowers, blowers, plows, and blades.
