Co-founder Of NFLS Physics Olympiad Club

  • Conduct lessons to groups of up to 75 students from grade 10 to grade 11. Our club is the largest one in our high school.
  • I am the teacher of Physics Olympiad Club, where I teach competition style questions for British Physics Olympiad (BPhO), Physics Bowl, entrance examination (PAT & ENGAA & NSAA) and interview of University of Oxford and University of Cambridge.
  • Due to the large amount of students and their different level of ability, I set a test to divide them into two pools. One pool is for competition purpose, and the other pool is for learning purpose. For the competition pool, we concentrate on problem-solving. For the learning pool, we concentrates on difficult Physics concepts.
  • I wrote teaching material by myself to make sure that every student can understand what I was talking about during the class.
  • We worked for 3 hours every week to keep refreshing students' understanding on the topics.
  • We cover the Physics of A Level, IB and AP, so students can also get a more comprehensive understanding on their in-class Physics.
  • This year, after one-year study, we got 5 Top Golds in British Physics Olympiad.

Using SolidWorks To Simulate Structural Mechanics

  • Due to my interest in civil engineering, I designed a bridge in SolidWorks and build a 3D model. However, I had no experience in design a bridge. I used the software to do a stress analysis, and the result shows that the load capability is only 14.2kg.
  • Then, I learnt the knowledge of Young modulus and bending stress, and studied why H shaped beams can usually load the most.
  • With the knowledge of bending stress, I redesigned the bridge and get a 40% growth in terms of the load capacity.
  • Through this experience, I learnt how to use software to do structural mechanics simulations and how to increase the rigidity of a structure.

  • I have joint so many Physics competitions, so I am really familiar with how each competition tests students the understanding of Physics. Hence, an education institution hires me to be a full time Physics teacher who teaches CAIE & AQA A Level Physics and Physics Bowl competition with income.
  • Since I was also a year-12 student, I know why sometimes teachers tried so much but students got nothing. This is because learning Physics efficiently requires a simulated thinking pattern. I extracted all the details from the text book and make a note by myself on the iPad. In this way, students can understand them better.
  • I prefer to teach students how to think like a Physicist instead of telling them to solve too much problem.

I am interested in electronic music composition. and I have learnt EDM composition by myself for 3 years. Currently, I am good at genres like progressive house and tropical house.
