Before coming to UPEI, I was a lecturer teaching Calculus and Probability at Beijing Wuzing University in China after getting my PhD in Beijing University of Technology Although I missed the opportunity to study in the Major of Mathematics during my bachelor studies from 2009 to 2013 in Central University of Finance and Economics in China, I work hard on Mathematics all the time and got no less than 90/100 in every course related to Mathematics Thus, I switched to the major of Mathematics during my master studies from 2013 to 2015 and learned something on Scientific Computing and Finite Element Method in Beijing University of Technology and found my great passion in pure mathematics then So I was engaged in the research area of general topology, especially topological groups and was learning from my supervisor, Professor Liang-Xue Peng (pengliangxue@bjuteducn) during my doctoral studies for PhD from 2015 to 2019

However, without Undergraduate and Graduate studies in PURE mathematics, I have a horrible gap to use the fundamental mathematics flexibly in my research after getting PhD, which caused many problems and low efficiency of my research progress This is due to the fact that if we compare Mathematics to a pyramid, on the top of the pyramid are immediate applications of mathematics to our everyday life and that the top of the pyramid would not be so high if its base were not so wide This special feature of mathematics derives from its internal structure Both a good modern application of Mathematics and a good idea in modern research of a specific field of pure Mathematics can typically stem from the firm basis of various fields in pure Mathematics

For example, some new thoughts in Geometry and Spectra Analysis along with the Schrodinger Operator, which is a combination of ideas like operator, variational function in Functional Analysis and the Schrodinger Equations in non-relativistic Quantum Mechanics can be used to study the Sturm-Liouville Theory in Mathematical Physics (see [1]); the concept of free topological group, which is a combination of group structure in Algebra and various properties in General Topology, is also applied to the research in Abstract Harmonic Analysis (cf [2], pp 72); the Vitali’s Covering Theorem in Real Analysis may well be generalized to an arbitrary topological spaces with Borel Structure (cf [3]), not only Euclid spaces; the Lagrange Inversion Theorem and Lagrange-Bürmann Formula (see [4]) in Functional Analysis can be used to evaluate the coefficient of Taylor series of the solution of some specific type of functional equation, which is of great importance in Combinatorics; so on and so forth

So to find an approach to an outlined overview of all fields of PURE Mathematics more efficiently, I decided to study for a Bachelor of Science Program, majoring in Mathematics in a Canadian university even though my parents passed away because of a terrible traffic accident in 1999 and nobody in my extended family approved to my idea of this, and I eventually chose UPEI for its lower tuition fee and friendly atmosphere After graduating from the undergraduate program in the major of Mathematics in UPEI, I plan to study for a graduate program in the major of Mathematics and another PhD in a Canadian university

Unfortunately, I was scammed out of about 100,000$, which includes all my deposit including 4-year tuition fee on the early morning of September 5th The sketch of the scam is mainly as follows

On the afternoon of August 30th 2023, I received a telephone call from Fido telling me that a telephone number was registered under my name on August 21st at Changle Airport, Fuzhou, China As I had never heard of that number and I had never been to that airport, I asked the man in the phone call to unsubscribe that number, but he said that he needed the consent of the police before unsubscribing and then he transferred my phone call to the so-called police After that, a so-called policeman named Venn, who was actually a scammer, answered my phone call and agreed to help me unsubscribe that number but told me that I was involved in an international money laundering case which was under secret investigation of his work team He also told me that a bank account with 3,770,000 Chinese Yuan under my name was found in the house of Lee, the head committer of the money laundering case I was shocked by what Venn said but agreed to do whatever he told me to do so that I could prove that I was innocent, even though I never heard of the bank account in his description To make me believe in the existence of the money laundering case under secret investigation and believe that he was helping me to prove my innocence, Venn asked me to tell him that I was safe at regular intervals every day on a cellphone app called Telegram and not to tell anybody around me about the money laundering case as it was under secret investigation and I just complied with what he said

Some days later, on the late night of September 4th 2023, Venn threatened me on Telegram that because of the necessities of the investigation of the money laundering case, all my bank accounts were going to be locked and I was going to be arrested and he even showed me an authorized notification about that Under the circumstance of being afraid of committing crimes and the eagerness to prove that all the money in my deposit was legal, I transferred my deposit of 550,000 Chinese Yuan, which was about 100,000$ to a bank account provided by Hole, who claimed to be Venn’s leader, for check of the police on the early morning of September 5th Hole promised to return the money to me a week later at that time, but on the next day Hole and Venn refused to return my money, threatened to arrest me again and blamed me heavily for answering a phone call reminding me of the awareness of scams from the Chinese Police 96110 Venn even proposed that I could borrow another 400,000 Chinese Yuan from my family and my friends and then transfer it to another bank account to avoid being arrested I didn’t think it would be suitable for me to follow the instruction of Venn again and I was so afraid of being arrested Thus, I called the police and reported what I had experienced since August 30th 2023 However, the policeman told me that my money may never be back

Now I really need the scholarship to pay my tuition fee in UPEI and to continue with my study plan Would you please help me?
