Coordinates a work team composed of contract tradespersons, experienced labour and manages one full-time staff member Allocates responsibilities, acts as a liaison for the team, reviews and evaluates workload and abilities to meet client requirements, analyzes time, material, equipment and financial and human resource requirements

Plans, manages and participates in site maintenance program Schedules multi-trade projects; estimates and monitors expenditures for equipment and supplies; prepares specifications and manages services contracts, assesses work done and performance, certifies payment to maintenance contractors, monitors and verifies expenditures related to facility operations Analyzes historical costs and identifies areas for cost reduction

Provides input for requirements and priorities for capital projects in consultation with the science community

Provides on-site Engineering Technologist services for AAFC construction projects Serves with PSPC, AAFC Regional Engineers and Architectural firms in the planning, design and project management of major and minor construction projects Prepares sketches and specifications used for procurement of contractors services Inspects the work of constructors for conformance with drawing, contract specifications and good trade practice, approving to rejecting work and certifying completed work for payment

Identifies capital projects for the purposes of upgrading, maintaining and improving the operation and energy efficiency of the building systems and infrastructure Determines requirements and priorities for capital projects in consultation with the science community In consultation with Integrated Services Manager, Facility & Operations Maintenance Manager (EG-06), Regional Engineer, contractors, suppliers and consultants, assesses feasibility, evaluates options, develops cost estimates and prepares project submissions for subsequent review and approval by the Director of Environmental and Engineering Services
