  • Staff physiotherapist in acute care, outpatient setting, and long-term care facility at QEII Hospital while in a rotational position for over 10 years. At the same time, maintaining a small outpatient pediatric caseload. Typical duties of staff physiotherapist, with the need to balance caseload to autonomously manage the pediatric caseload as it ebbed and flowed, within the acute/long-term care caseload. During this time, I was a preceptor to PT students, a supervising therapist to several physio assistants, and a porter.
  • Later, moved to Virene Building to join the Community and Home Care Pediatric program to more readily collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop more inclusive and focused patient care for the pediatric population.
  • Assess, make best-practice treatment decisions, provide the client/caregiver with education, and clearly communicate expectations and the plan of treatment.
  • Documented patient progress and modified treatments accordingly, including communications with the referring provider, physician, or collaborative healthcare provider.
  • AADL Pediatric Authorizer since 1993, assessing for and authorizing pediatric equipment.
  • Mentored less-experienced physiotherapists, students, and physio assistants in clinical techniques and best practices..
  • Participated in community health initiatives, promoting wellness programs and education to other collaborative healthcare providers. Provide education to my co-workers and peers within my profession.
