- After my late mother, Karyn Parkyn, had her leg amputated in August 2018, I had taken the responsibility of tending to (at first) minor needs
- As I grew up and we found a better place to live, I had taken the responsibility of cleaning, cooking, laundry, and making sure that my mother made it to her appointments
- I would also make sure that she had all of her correct medications before I went to bed.
- Karyn passed away at home on March 1st, 2024 due to a variety of health issues that she had been fighting for almost a decade.
